Hello you YaYas!
Can you believe that it's over already?
Wasn't I just sending emails to you all in February?...and being laughed at by my daughters telling me "we just had one, and you're already sending emails about the next?"
Time flies when we're having fun.
The group consensus was that "this one" was the "best"...so far.
But, we say that every year don't we?
I asked Rita why did this year's "Mothers & Daughters" day feel so good, and she said "The Moon was in the 7Th House".... lol.
To those of who are too young to know what that means, it's a line from a song "The Age of Aquarius".... (1968)
"When the moon is in the Seventh House And Jupiter aligns with Mars Then peace will guide the planets And love will steer the stars."
Well.....I think the planets were in perfect alignment. It was a perfect YA YA! Everything just felt so good!
Being together again, the food, the hats, the Petites relishing the fun.
It touches my heart to know that my little idea, has turned into this annual event. And it has gone on for 5 years. That you all look forward to this day, and as I have said many times, that the little ones will grow up never knowing a time when there was no " Mothers & Daughters" day. The traditions being made, the stories being told, will hopefully be carried on and on.
I wish I could see into the future, when one of our "Petites" is 65... dusting off her hat, grabbing the scrapbook and going to the "60Th annual Mothers & Daughters day." What will they be saying about us? What memories will they hold dear?

I am still basking in the glow of our YaYa celebration... It is something that centers me and makes me know I am a very lucky woman ~ I am surrounded by the best of the best. I have no doubt the family members that went before us ~ our mothers, grandmothers, aunts, great aunts and cousins are smiling down on us ~ you can feel their presence as we attempt to keep their memories alive... I know they're proud of the closeness we share. We owe them a "thank you" for the pride in family and the traditiions they instilled in us. Can't wait for next year!! ~ Love Ri
