Welcome!

Hi you YAYAS!

I decided to start a blog, just for us Yayas!
I thought it would be an easy way to get news out to everyone.
So, I hope you will all bookmark this Blog to your favorites and come back to read what's new.
I will be posting information about our upcoming 5th. ANNUAL MOTHERS & DAUGHTERS CELEBRATION here. Feel free to leave comments.
I'd love photos, ideas, or messages from you.

Ok, so to begin, here is some general information for you to mark on your calendars.

the 5th. Annual Mothers & Daughters Celebration Day is:

SATURDAY OCTOBER 13TH, 2007
(time to be announced.....invitation will follow later.)

It will be held once again at
THE COTTAGE IN MADISON, OHIO
I thought it was a great place to accommodate our growing bunch! and of course it will be a sleepover!

COTTAGE DEPOSIT....

If you remember last year, We requested that everyone considered helping with the cost of renting the cottage for our October, 2007 gathering. We calculated that it will cost $20 per adult. I am requesting each adult please send half now ($10) to cover the cost of the deposit, and the remaining half ($10) due The day of our gathering. I will need all the adults to please send their money ($10) to me by: APRIL 30TH. We need it to secure the cottage ASAP . If you need my home address, just email me: sassee21@aol.com you can sent cash, checks, or money orders. I will keep a list of everyone's payments. thank you.

WHO'S WHO BOOK.....

I wanted to tell you about my idea for a "WHO'S WHO" book.
I want to created a book that will provide a little insight into each of us. I got this idea, after seeing a picture of my Paternal great grandmother, Nancy Lantron. I was thrilled to see the picture, but after awhile, I realized I knew nothing about her! What was her favorite food? what kinds of things did she like to do? how old was she when she got married? I had a million questions, and no one had the answers! I will create a page for each YAYA, with basic questions, and information. I'm trying to figure out the best way to get the info from everyone, and get it all compiled. Jamie suggested calling each person, and "interviewing" them. Or I could send out an email, for everyone to fill out. I might just send a blank page to everyone, that could be sent back with their deposits. I'm not sure yet. Anyway, think about what you'd want your page to say about you!.....keep in mind the future YAYAS that will be reading it. There will be more information about the WHO'S WHO book in upcoming posts.

A CALL FOR RECIPES......

Rita is hoping to publish a volume 3 Cookbook......... yayyyy!
She is requesting that you send in your recipes ASAP!!!!
She may be losing her "printing resources" VERY soon, and if that happens, she probably would not be able to produce the cookbook.
So please gather your favorite recipes, and email them to Rita QUICKLY!
It takes many hours writing, and assembling these books, and she needs to get started right away..... THANK YOU RITA!
Send your recipes to: ritagaebelein@sbcglobal.net
please put: YA YA RECIPE in the subject line.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT......

I was thinking about all the food we bring, and how some of it didn't even make it to the table last year! I'm looking for your suggestions for this year. Should we continue to each bring a dish? or should we decide on a menu, and everyone contribute to it?
Personally, I think there should always be "Official" YA YA foods, like Tostada's. and Mimosa.... and add to that.. a Casada cake!..... Other than that, I'm open to suggestions! Also, any cool ideas you might have, to make it a fun day, please write!
I would also like to continue having a gift exchange, messages in a box, and our "sharing/teaching" time. etc.

Ok... That's all for now! I have sooo many ideas!!
I know it seem like it's so far away, but it's not! We'll all be busy over the summer, and it will be here before you know it!

Check back soon! Please feel free to leave comments and suggestions, no matter how big or small.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS BLOG TO ANYONE I MAY HAVE MISSED!

Love you YAYAS!
MaryEllen... Mother,Sister,Aunt,Friend. AND YAYA! xoxo

I "LOVE" this... It's a great way to keep in touch and also adds to the excitement and anticipation of our next "Mother~Daughter Celebration"
Thanks for thinking of it Sas!!
For the food thing... maybe we could start a sign up sheet thats broken down by "Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner" and then sub headdings...
"Main Dishes" "Salads" "Deserts" "Beverages".. that way everyone can see what's already been listed and what we still may need and go from there.
I Love that we get together...I love that the Petite YaYa's and the Très Petite YaYa's are as into this as we are... Way to Go...Farone Girls!.... Oh.. I hope that you all understand about the Recipe thing... I may be loosing my xerox machine very soon! Love Ri, mom, grandma, sister, aunt, friend

This is pretty cool!!....I have a few ideas. As far as the food goes....what about Breaking it up into catagories and each "group' having one. for example...Aunt Sas you would have entrees because you are hostess well now your group can concentrate on the things for that....you, Jamie, Allison. I think also we can have a breakfast group for the following morning...for example If my mom had it....her and I and sahra and chloe would get stuff for next day.(Not much bagels something quick yet yummy)... We can have Entree...snacks...apps....desserts and breakfast. In the "group" there are 2 with 4 people and 2 with 3, Kathy has 2. Now that doesnt mean neccesarily 4 app maybe just 2....well leave up to the group and also not make it for the amount of people that are present. Also I did not include Rosemary's group because I wasnt sure if they would come. If they do...then we can just go from there. Also as much chit-chat we have and like to hang out I think that we should set aside about an hour or so to the little ones....Madison, Emily1 and Emily 2..Bella and Carmen. I think maybe we could find a game or something for them to do....to make them feel like they are doing more than running crazy and yelling...and we can incorporate there gift exchange in to this. Not sure what it would be but If all approve I will come up with something crafty and fun...or anyone else who has anything I think that would be great. Well I think this is all for now...I love this blog thing you all might being reading alot more from me!! Happy snow-sunshining to you all...love ya!

Hey Fam! I like the new blog. I'm getting excited about the next yaya, since it will be our turn to host! I like Heather's idea about an hour for the little ones. They probably get bored while the rest of us are in to our talking. I don't know what recipes I'll put in this year's cookbook, but I will start thinking today. Well see ya'll later! LOVE YOU GUYS!
